HAVE YOUR SAY

Submitted on 27 April 2018 by Julie Lovatt

As you may be aware Charnwood Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan which will include strategic and detailed planning policies on where and how new development should take place in the Borough.  I am writing to inform you that as part of the process of preparing the new Local Plan we are inviting views on the development strategy options for Charnwood to 2036.

We have published a discussion paper, titled ‘Towards a Local Plan for Charnwood’ that explores the scale of development needed in the Borough, the key issues and opportunities that need to be taken into account and considers the options for an overall strategy for delivering the growth needed.

We are also inviting views on the key evidence that has helped shape the discussion paper, including the:

Interim Sustainability Appraisal;
Settlement Hierarchy Assessment;
Settlement Limits to Development Assessment; and
Green Wedge and Areas of Local Separation Review.

To view the consultation documents and make representations to us please visit our consultation portal at:

We would like to hear your views on the development strategy options and supporting documents and invite comments by 5pm on Thursday 7th June 2018.

We understand that some people prefer to submit comments by email or by letter.  If you are unable to make your comments online please email your comments to localplans@charnwood.gov.uk  or write to:
